Atlanna returned to Atlantis, so Tom was forced to raise Arthur alone. As a child Arthur began to show that he had inherited his mother's gifts. Tom turned to Doctor Stephen Shina scientist he saved from a storm, so he could better understand Arthur's abilities. During the time of Arthur's graduation, Shin attempted to release his research to the public, so Tom destroyed all of it except a phial of Arthur's blood, which he took.
Shin paid a treasure hunter known as the Black Manta to retrieve the phial from the Curry household. However, there was a struggle and the stress caused Tom to suffer a heart attack, and he died in the hospital soon after. Arthur then tracked Black Manta down and killed his father, believing it to be Manta himself. He ruled over Atlantis for a while until he abandoned his role, and his brother Orm took the throne. He went on to form The Othersa team made up of outcasts who would search the globe for the Dead King's Atlantean Weapons so they could be safe guarded.
After retrieving the artifacts and keeping the Trident of NeptuneAquaman parted ways with the Others. After leaving Atlantis and coming across a demon-like being activating a device that opened a portaldozens of the demon like creatures emerged from the portal and headed to the surface. The group then proceeded to kill any of the invaders who got in their way as they attempted to stop the invasion force. The Cyborg told the group that the leader of the invasion force comes from world to world harvesting any organic material.
At that point, another portal opened and the ruler of the invaders, Darkseidstepped through. The tyrant used his telekinetic power to crush the whole group, rendering a majority of them unconscious, including Arthur. Upon awakening, the Flash told the group that Superman had been taken by Darkseid's forces.
Coordinating their attacks, the group attempted to blind Darkseid so his energy beams would be ineffective. Cyborg then used his built in mother box to open several portals. All of Darkseid's minions were pushed back through the portal. Wonder Woman and Arthur then blinded Darkseid, and with the help of Superman, the team were able to push the tyrant back to Apokolips. Arthur took on a ward in the form of a boy named Garth who became the first Aqualad.
This included Aquaman, who forgot about raising Garth and taking him on as Aqualad. As such Garth became oblivious to his history and joined the Atlantean Army, unaware of his past with Arthur and the Teen Titans. As Aquaman, Arthur Curry began protecting Bostonhaving decided to completely abandon Atlantis to pursue a life on land with Mera. Chasing the Trench, which had taken hostages, to the Marianas Trenchthey discovered the predators dying out and desperately trying to feed their children in the remnants of an Atlantean craft.
The heroes saved the captives, and Aquaman reluctantly caused the Trench's extinction to prevent further loss of human life. During the U. Navy's investigation of the hideout after the fact, Aquaman came in contact with the ship's black boxdiscovering a centuries old warning inside.
Reuniting with an old ally of Aquaman's named Ya'Wara from his days with the Others, Aquaman and Mera were informed that Black Manta had killed Kahina the Seeranother former member of the Others, and had taken one of the Artifacts of Atlantis —the Seal of Clarity which she was guarding.
Once the Others were finally assembled, one of their members called the Operative informed them that Black Manta planned to steal the Dead King's Scepter. Although the Others tracked down the villain's location and Aquaman managed to defeat Manta, the heroes did not succeed in time to stop Manta from delivering the scepter to a mysterious stranger and Vostok-X was killed.

She is the daughter of Zatarathe host of Doctor Fate. Zatanna has a rebellious nature: she has snuck out of the house multiple times with a duplication spelland suggested that the Team "kidnaps" her to cover up her willing involvement in tracking down the missing Red Tornado.
She is also quite comfortable with Robin's flirting, and shares his habit of removing prefixes from words. A teenage girl with Italian roots, Zatanna has medium length black hair and bright cyan colored eyes with a slender build. Her magic allows her to change her clothing quickly. She wears a white single breasted shirt with a tie either white bow tie or a black bolo tiea black jacket and a black skirt. Her other, more casual outfit is a pair of white or black pants with a light violet or dark red top and white or black shoes.
She also wears white earrings. On her first mission, she used a feminine variation of her father's costume, with a white shirt, bow tie and gloves, a low cut yellow vest, a black blazer, black mini-shorts with gray stockings and black boots reaching midway up her calves. Her mission attire is more alluring and her hair became wavier with strands hanging over her ears to frame her face.
Zatanna used to live in New York City with her father, and went to a Catholic high school. Zatara introduced his daughter to the Team in the hopes of giving her a training session with Black Canary. The Team befriended her; especially Robinwho took an instant liking to her.
As her father discussed affairs with Black Canary, Zatanna quickly realized the Team was having a psychic conversation, and called them out on it.
Superboy immediately requested information about Red Tornado from Black Canary, but received no satisfactory reply. As a distraction, Zatara asked the Team to show Zatanna around the Cave. During the tour, Zatanna deduced that the Team did plan on searching for Tornado, and suggested she'd come with, supposedly because they "kidnapped" her. Out of ideas, Wally suggested interrogating Professor IvoMorrow's biggest competitor.
Much to the surprise of the rest, Zatanna used a spell on him that made him reveal the location of Morrow's lab: Yellowstone Park. The Team headed to Yellowstone, and set out to find Red Tornado. He found them, and quickly dispatched them. He sucked the air out of Zatanna's lungs, making it impossible for her to say a spell.
She came to when Red Volcano took over. Robin then realized Zatanna was the card up their sleeve here; Volcano boasted knowing their every move because he had Tornado's memories, but Tornado was not familiar with Zatanna. She managed to distract the robot so Kid Flash could save Miss Martian from his clutches.DC Comics is home to a countless array of heroes and villains, including many of the most iconic characters to ever grace the comic book page. However, even within that vast universe of mythic figures, a few heroes have managed to soar above the rest, whether due to their compelling backstories, visually interesting powers, or — perhaps, in most cases — a combination of the two.
Booster Gold DC Comics. His comic series infuses some much-needed comedy in the otherwise grim DC canon, as a time traveler from the future utilizing his advanced technology to become a celebrity superhero. Warner Bros. Arrow The CW. Originally, DC was content to have him basically act as a Batman clone that used a bow and arrow, but in the years since his creation, Green Arrow has taken on a personality of his own, pushing the Justice League into a progressive, forward-thinking mindset.
Constantine NBC. John Constantine plays an integral role in the DC canon, as the gatekeeper for all things supernatural. Aquaman DC Comics. Martian Manhunter DC. A strong argument can be made for why Martian Manhunter is the most powerful hero in the entire Justice League. Beyond that, he also acts an intriguing foil for Superman, as a fellow alien who was forced to watch as their society came crumbling down around them.
Wonder Woman DC Comics. Considering she is as powerful as Superman, Wonder Woman — whose origin story is steeped in Greek mythology — deserves to be just as popular as her male counterparts.
Casual fans will finally learn just how fascinating a figure she really is. Green Lantern DC Comics.
Raven (DC Comics)
Like Flash, a number of men have wielded the magical ring that is the signature of the intergalactic law enforcement group known as the Green Lantern Corps. However, all have proven to be strong additions to comic book lore — from Hal Jordan to John Stewart. The Flash DC Comics. Flash may not have the same marquee value among non-comic book readers, but the character is catching up with his fellow Justice League members fast after all, he is the fastest man alive. Often depicted as more fun and relaxed than most other top DC heroes, the character has long been a staple of the comics and has recently broken into the mainstream, thanks to the hit series on The CW.
Flash has also undergone loads of evolution over the years, with different men donning the suit. Regardless of which version of the character appears, the Flash is always a highlight, and his world — which frequently dabbles in time travel — never fails to create new and surprising stories. Perhaps the most recognizable superhero ever created, Superman is probably also the one responsible for the explosion of the genre in the first place, as he predates virtually all of the heroes we love today.
A paragon of truth and justice, the character is known for his unyielding sense of righteousness, and although he has largely been difficult to capture on the big screen — at least, since Christopher Reeve donned the red cape. Like Hellboy, Ghost Rider isn't specifically a magic user, but his powers are uniquely supernatural - and infernal. Once one of the core characters of DC's Vertigo line, John Constantine has had his share of magical adventures without really using magic at all. DC's Mistress of Magic. Everyone's favorite fishnet-clad, raven-haired, sassy sorceress. Zatanna's powers have shifted over the years from powerful spellcasting to just controlling the elements and everything in-between, but her magic is pretty much always verbally controlled by speaking her spells backwards ekil sihtbut during the rare occasions that she's rendered voiceless, she can write out what she needs - backwards and in her own blood - and it works just the same.
